What is this class about?- This class is about learning in a new way that is different from other English classes and the use of new technology.
What's the easiest part of this class?- The easiest part is writing in our journals at the beginning of class every day.
What's the hardest part of this class?- The hardest part is keeping up with blogs.
What have you learned so far? -I have so far learned that you're not entitled to your own opinion.
What is your big question? Why do cherry tomatoes taste different form regular size tomatoes?

How to memorize Richard Cory
- I first read the poem to get an idea of what it was about.
- Then I reread it again two more times.
- Then begin to memorize the first stanza.
- Once I have memorized the first stanza I move on to the second stanza.
- After I have memorized the two stanzas, I put them together.
- I then repeat the same steps I have been doing until I have memorized all the stanzas and can read it out loud to myself without any mistakes.

CONSCIENCE OF A HACKER/ COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES OF A HACKER
Analyze- Break it down into components.
Diction - Collection of words an author uses.
Syntax- The way an author arranges words.
Tone- The author's attitude towards the audience, topic, or characters.
Diction and Syntax are not arguable
The author uses the words damn, smart ass, and apathetic as words of diction to show that he can connect with both his younger and older audience. He uses the words criminal and there all alike in repetition throughout his writing to make a point.
The author changes his tone in his writing when he is writing about the teachers and changes it again when he is writing to the audience.

The Socratic Method
Notes
- Not achieving high status doesn't make you a loser. Everyone has a different way of achieving a high status.
- We as humans now become happy when society chooses to reward us with a symbolic prize. How are we really happy though, because it seems that where making others happy instead of ourselves?
- I do strongly agree with" If it’s money that brings you to her attention, perhaps it’s money that she loves". Money doesn't buy happiness. It can attract people who think money makes them happy, but in the end, you will both be miserable.
- " To have status is to act superior". I feel like its normal now in society to make yourself feel small when your around other people who are " superior". Even though this is how those people make themselves superior because you are helping feed there ego by letting yourself be made small.
- Treating others as equals can make you and everyone else around you feel happy while making yourself feel superior just doesn't give the same effect.
- People in society that have status are judges for example.
- Return to living. Stop making everything about yourselves and look around you.
- For the Socratic Method to work people must be willing to think negative.
- Looking for the truth with constant questioning and criticism.
- The word "No" has become too common of a response.
- This method forces the teacher to pay close attention to their students.
- This method also causes to people to believe that authority is meaningless.
The Right to Your Opinion
Notes
- Claiming the right to our opinions doesn't get us closer to the truth.
- By really knowing your rights you will soon discover that you don't really have the rights you think you have.
- After hearing "You are entitled to your own opinion" so many times now. Its become hard to use any other reasonable argument to defend your opinion when someone else disagrees with it.
- It's irrelevant to respond with your rights in an argument when another person is giving reasons for there disagreement on a topic. For example, our current president uses the phrase" fake news" when the news reports feedback or information back to the public.
- It doesn't show who is right in the argument by just replaying " I'm entitled to my own opinion"
- You have to earn the entitlement to your own opinion. Good evidence to back up your claim.
- Rights entail duties.
- What must an individual do to respect the right?
- Some people in our life believe that they are more intelligent or are higher then u because of there knowledge on certain topics.
- Their opinion usually isn't true.
Everyone is used to saying " You are entitled to your opinion". I even at some point have said this when I have had a disagreement with friends. As I read the article " The Right To Your Opinion" it's clear that this statement is completely false. Saying these 6 words won't prove how your right in any reasonable argument. It will most likely show how the person that is giving a real reason to back up their argument is correct. I do agree with the article when it said " You have to earn the entitlement to your opinion".

A little insite
Well start to off my whole name is Emma Elioser Vega. I'm the oldest out of 5 siblings. I have a younger sister and three younger brothers. My father was born here in the United States while my mother was born in Mexico. I grew up speaking Spanish but picked up English really quick from my dad. I do enjoy listening to classical music even though I can't remember the name of the song or the artist who wrote it. I listen to classical music the most when I'm writing essays. I can also play the flute. I've been playing it since the fourth grade. By playing music I met a lot of new friends throughout the school years. I also like te read, but I mainly read on my phone now on an app where random authors who are not well known get a creative area to express themselves. I enjoyed reading the most when I was in the 8th grade. My English teacher had the class read some really amazing books. She even got me to join the battle of the books. I have always been a quiet person, but once I get comfortable I can't stop talking. My one bad flaw is that I have a really hard time with change. Changes always send me on a rollercoaster of emotions even if the change is good.
